Skagafjordur Heritage Museum offers few exhibitions. At the Glaumbær Farm, which served as a dwelling until 1947, is exhibition focusing on rural life in 18th century Iceland and in two 19th century timber houses at Glaumbær are exhibitions and tea room, which serves traditional light Icelandic fare. Together these three buildings are a powerful reminder of 18th- and 19th-century life in rural Iceland. Exhibitions are also at the Minjahús in Sauðárkrókur village focusing on workshops dated 1925-1985 and at the Emigration Center at Hofsós, about the Icelanders who immigrated to the New World 1870-1914.
